Thanks so much for adapting so well to Corsizio as our new signup tool for everything but privates!
To help you with your own planning:
In a typical year I offer TWO 5-week terms in the fall and THREE 5-week terms in the winter and spring. This is when I will continue to offer Group series and private lesson times. In June and July I run teacher training intensives and so my home studio is quiet. However I will be running two A DAY AWAY experiences in June and July – please consider taking one or both to deepen your body, voice and nature connection! Space is limited.
You are always welcome to reach out to me whenever you need coaching or private lessons in case I have time available between terms. I post the exact times during terms and need to stick with those while teaching groups.
There is one last Array Large Group Class Monday April 15th from 6:30 – 9:30. Please consider taking it! You can sign up through the Corsizio portal. (I have not posted any Array dates for this next term. I will be revising that format for the fall.)
This summer I will be teaching at One Clown North – the re-birthed Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance, aka the Clown Farm. It will be a week-long vocal intensive from July 11th – 16th in Sudbury. I will use physical exercises, time around the piano, improvisation, song study and songs the students bring in to promote reliable vocal growth. It will be immersive and transformational. I love leading this kind of in-depth exploration and research. For more information visit www.

Below are two links to Patsy Rodenberg’s recent talks with her student Elliot Shrimpton. He is head of acting at Guildhall school of music and drama in the UK and Patsy taught there for 4 decades until she quit last month. The news made the Guardian a few weeks ago. Her talks are deeply supportive of voice training – of the commitment and discovery you make when you take a group series or attend slippers regularly. SPRING TERM 2024: April 25 – May 30
1. If you are a new student, email fidesbooking@gmail.com to set up a Foundational Private Session with Fides or one of her teacher grads. (Available/suggested times in the course listings below). After your first foundational, you can take any of the studio’s class offerings.
2. If you are a returning student, registration for the Spring Term Classes will appear on the EIV Studio Registration Portal.
Registration will open on Tuesday April 2
We will send out a reminder when this happens.
You will be able to access these classes on the portal:
Group Class 4/5 Series = $280 +HST
ZOOM Group Class 4/5 Series = $280 +HST
Slipper Camp Pack: $100 +HST (or $75 + HST if taken in tandem with a Group Series)
The only classes that remain manual sign up are:
Private Session = $130 no HST for 1 hour with Fides
and Private Foundational Session with Fides (for new students).
For Privates, we ask that you still send in a list of at least 3 possible times chosen from the list to fidesbooking@gmail.com.

If you must cancel for any reason, please give us 48h or more notice, and you will not be charged for your lesson. Exception: If you have a potential COVID symptom (https://www.cdc.gov/
Friendly Reminders
PLEASE BE ON TIME
Please do your best to arrive on time and avoid leaving class early. Late arrivals and early departures are disruptive to the rhythm of small classes.
SCENT-FREE REMINDER
Now that In-Person classes are running again, just a reminder that Fides’ studio is a Scent-Free space. Please don’t wear perfume, cologne, or products with strong fragrances such as hairspray or essential oils to class. These can cause asthma symptoms, migraines, and perhaps most confusingly, allergic reactions that closely resemble COVID in many people.
Clothing
A reminder to wear comfortable/loose clothing that you can breathe and move easily in. Bring socks or slippers for your comfort.

4/5 Week Sign-up Series
GET TO KNOW YOUR VOICE AND HOW TO WORK WITH IT!
In small groups I take you into the nitty gritty of Emotionally Integrated Voice to work with the body’s capacity for freedom, connection, catharsis and economy. Through singing long tones we undo the prejudices we each hold around voice. We support one another’s discoveries and celebrate the authentic feel and sound of each person’s vocal instrument as range, texture and ease flourish. These “ahas” become reliable technique through the conscious, healthy repetition practiced in Slipper Camp.
“4/5 Series” means you are signing up for a series with 5 consecutive weeks of class (same day, same time each week) but only paying for 4, to allow you the flexibility of one missed class for illness and other curveballs. You can skip any 1 class in the series, no need to let us know in advance. If you wish to attend all 5, simply pay for the final class via e-transfer to fidesbooking@gmail.com on the day of. It’s $79.19 ($67.80 artsworker).
There is no switching between series, you take Group class with the same cohort of students every week. You can’t purchase individual one-off Group Classes this term. A foundational is necessary to join small group classes.

Drop-In Series
A FRIENDLY AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM VOCAL PRACTICE
Slipper Camp has the rigour of a boot camp and is intended for students who are becoming familiar with my pedagogical approach to voice; they complement Group Classes and the sessions held at Arraymusic. The regular format maintains what you have learned, builds stamina, instils a reliable warm-in and prepares you for deeper work — but they do not take the place of the individual attention experienced in a Group Class.
Slippers will be taught primarily by Fides with a teacher grad filling in occasionally.
All Slipper Camps are live on Zoom. At least 5 classes will be recorded and uploaded to Vimeo. Recordings will start being uploaded within 48h after the first class, and will remain available until the next round of recordings starts being uploaded for the following term.
Slipper Camp is a drop-in class: attend and view recordings flexibly as suits your schedule. No need to let us know if you can’t make some/one/any of the classes.

Zoom privates may be possible under special circumstances, please inquire directly.

Note: We will make an effort to bill you for your Privates at the same time as the rest of the classes, but you may receive a separate confirmation/bill for Privates.

FOUNDATIONAL PRIVATE SESSION
One on one attention, for one hour, with Fides (in person) or one of her teacher grads (in person or on Zoom)
This option is for students who are brand new to the studio (i.e. if you have never taken any classes at the studio, and you have not yet had a Private Foundational Session with Fides or one of her teacher grads).
This session is a prerequisite for taking any/all other classes at the studio. Email fidesbooking@gmail.com directly with a list of at least 3 1hr Private time slots that work for you.
If you are hoping to take a Group Series or Slipper Camp this upcoming term, you would be aiming to have your foundational before the Term starts on March 5, so let us know your availability from the times listed below:
Thursday April 25: 1-2pm or 2:15-3:15pm
Friday April 26: 3:30-4:30pm or 4:45-5:45pm
If none of those work, let us know your availability the week of April 22.
COST: $130 (no HST)
Please note:
- If you make your living in the arts and need a discount, use the code ARTSWORKER15 at checkout on Group, Zoom Group, or Large Studio Class and your fee will be reduced by 15%. We do not offer an artsworker discount on Slipper since it is already priced as a discounted pack.
- Teacher/Class Cancellation Policy: If a class needs to be cancelled or rescheduled due to teacher illness or lack of class numbers, there will be communication about rescheduling times, carrying your payment over to the next term, or refund, as suits the student.
- Student Cancellation Policy for Group, Slipper, Large Studio Classes: We are unable to offer refunds.
- Student Cancellation Policy for Privates (including Foundationals): 48h+ notice of cancellation or postponement is subject to a $10 admin fee. With less than 48h notice, 50% of the class fee will be charged.
- Please do not attend in-person classes if you have COVID symptoms. We have built a free missed class into the Group Class series to offer some relief and flexibility for illness.
